My name is Erin Whisnant. I have been married for almost three years to my husband Sam. We are the proud parents of Bentley, our gray ghost. We moved to our house in Mt. View almost two years ago. Most nights and weekends are spent with family and friends! We love to be outdoors.

I am a second grade teacher at Snowcreek Elementary in Catawba County, where I have taught for four years. I am in the second half of my graduate studies in the Reading Education program. I have 6 classes to take over the next year and I will graduate!!! I have learned so much in this graduate program that I want to take back to my classroom and school.

I love the idea of having my students blog about literacy topics and themes that we are working on at different times of the year. I also am excited to use Skype in the classroom. I think that this will be a great way to introduce students to other parts of the world. Slide also gave me a reason to take pictures throughout the year. I can make slides to share with parents and even to show the students at the end of the year! There are so many other things that I can't wait to do...school just has to begin first!
